EDUCATION PROGRAMMES

Intro to Improv - for ages 18+

Dates: 15, 22, 29 August & 5 September
Time: 7pm-9pm
Tutor: Dan Pengelly
Cost: $50 (includes all four sessions)

This four-week course will introduce participants to the techniques and tools used to create improvised theatre and comedy. We provide a supportive and playful environment for each person to find their unique strengths as a performer. You will learn how to create offers, build off others, listen deeply, find the joy in failure and grow your confidence. These skills apply to improv but also add to any performers ability. No experience necessary, just a positive attitude.

Dan Pengelly has been a professional improviser for 13 years. He started out as a Court Jester in Christchurch in 2007 and has since studied in Australia, America and Canada. He holds a Masters in Theatre Arts and is the current Creative Director of Centrepoint Theatre. He values teaching and sharing his craft with the community.
