Centrepoint Theatre is excited to announce its first holiday programme for young people. After the success of our January summer schools in Palmerston North & Whanganui, we wish to offer more opportunities for emerging actors to engage and develop. The programme will run 9am-3pm each day of the second week of the Easter holidays.

Students will be introduced to the skills, techniques and joy of Improvisation and Theatresports. They will be tutored by a professional performer and finish the week showcasing the skills they have gained to an audience of family and friends. They will be supervised from drop off till pick up and will meet and work with professionals working in the theatre.

Parents might know Theatresports from Spontaneous or Scared Scriptless. Or you might know it from the TV show, Whose Line is it Anyway? Improvisation helps young people to learn confidence, communication, resilience, stage craft, storytelling and comedy. We offer a safe and playful environment where it is easy to take risks and try out new skills. From the absolute beginner to a 13 year old pro artist, this will be a fun and engaging week of creativity.
